Firmware
Firmware is software that is embedded in the PlayStation Portable. The firmware is updatable. Versions are 1.00, 1.50, 1.51, 1.52, 2.00, 2.01, 2.50 and 2.60.

Background
The background color changes every month. All colors are:
- January - Gray
- February - Yellow
- March - Green
- April - Pink
- May - Dark Green
- June - Purple
- July - Aqua
- August - Sky Blue/Blue/Dark Blue
- September - Violet
- October - Gold
- November - Light Brown
- December - Red

Identify the version
Start the PSP and choose "Settings" -> "System Settings" -> "System Information". Look at the middle line on the screen: "System Software Version x.xx".
